Lindsay Lonsdale Trainer

A recent addition to the Panama Team is Lindsay Lonsdale, born and bred in the Ribble Valley, who from her early teens, groomed and rode for local point to point trainers and various other private owners throughout the eighties. On leaving school she left England to study and learn Dressage and Show Jumping and was taught by the very best in both disciplines.

Returning from Holland Lindsay became an active member of local riding clubs and a dedicated committee member of North East Lancs Riding Club and one of the Northern Liaison Officer for the BHS Area 3. Whilst standing as Team Manager she chef'd the Team to taking the National Under 16s Novice Show Jumping Championships in 1997, a year the team will never forget.

Teaching became Lindsay's vocation after qualifying for her AI and for the last ten years has been in North Yorkshire working as a freelance instructor for the local riding centre and her own private clients. Her experience covers child beginners to experienced riders at competition level.

Lindsay is now available for lessons in all areas of riding - specialising in all aspects of flatwork, Back to Basics and confidence building in adults returning to riding or competing.

Clients are more than welcome to bring their horses to us here at Panama or Lindsay is willing to travel to venues or clients premises. Private sessions or get your friends together and all benefit from a shared session.

Principal Trainers Carol Richardson and Nick Saville

The team at Panama have over 30 years of professional experience training and preparing both horses and riders as well as competing.

Ex-international Showjumper Carol having started her career in racing and being a successful amateur jockey until the loss of one of her eyes in an accident curtailed her race riding.

Carol is responsible for the day to day running of the yard as well as educating the young horses especially the jumpers which is her forte.

Panama was home to a successful team of Show Jumpers who won over 100 B.S.J.A classes per year as well as winning and being placed internationally and nationally on our own and clients horses. 

We have also qualified and competed successfully horses for all major finals ie. Horse of the Year Show, Royal International at Hickstead, Dublin, Winter Championship etc. Cavan Young Horse Finals and B.S.J.A. Festivals.

The horses were ridden mainly by Carol Richardson who has been regularly in the top 50 B.S.J.A rankings, they are trained by Nick Saville who has many years expertise in training and producing horses at all stages.

Nick Saville  has a long career, both riding and training show jumpers and National Hunt Racehorses, producing many Champions and International Competition Horses. Although injury curtailed Nick's riding career he has taught show jumping riders to win at any level from amateurs and young riders to professionals. Nick was Chef d'equip for the British Young Riders Team when they competed in the Inter Countries Challenge in November / December 2003 and overseas.
