Back to basic riding clinics - what's it all about

Literally Back To Basics is exactly what it says, we go through the riders position, weight in the saddle, communication through the aides with a full explanation of what we do, how we do it, how and when to use it. We assess the riders and horses then strip back the rust and polish the edges back up. Riders that are self aware and know how their position can either help or hinder their horses movement and ability, then can ride and school their horses to far greater things and achieve better results whether its in the ring or just for enjoyment or out hacking.

Back to Basics Riding Clinics are not just for the experienced riders.. its for all of us, beginners, novices and experienced riders working with novice horses/ponies or youngsters who are being brought on in their careers, everyday riders with hacking horses, hunters out on the field, the list is endless. Everyone of us needs a touch up every now and then - just as our horses need schooling regular to keep them tuned up.

Working through the Back To Basic Clinics riders have access to a greater understanding on how a horse moves, then they are more likely to execute the aides more correctly and achieve a better flowing rhythm no matter what discipline they are working in.

Back To Basics is a valuable tool for success; without a thorough understanding of the basics no rider can get their horse to work effortlessly, free flowing and natural. This said, no horse will carry himself freely and work in harmony with a rider if the rider is not using correct aides, if the rider is not correctly balanced or if the rider just expects a performance rather than asking, then the partnership between them is going to crumble at some stage.

The Back To Basic Clinics are aimed to re-establish the unity between the horse and rider, going back to basics actually help the horse and rider to understand clearly the aides and how to work together in a more harmonious way. Re-educating the rider to think basics before struggling with a horse that's none compliant will help unravel problems between them and establish a solid foundation to then grow and understand further more technical questions.
